Steve Jobs, Apple’s (AAPL) legendary CEO, stepped down on August 24, 2011, citing ongoing health issues. In 2004 Jobs was diagnosed and treated for pancreatic cancer. He has had a number of health issues since and in 2009 had a liver transplant.
Tim Cook, who became active CEO during Job’s 2004 absence, and has assumed many of the CEO’s duties during subsequent absences, has been chosen to be the new CEO. In honor of Job’s and his embodiment of the American dream the Wall Street Journal published a graduation address that Job’s gave at Stanford University in 2005. A great and inspiring read for U.S. business people and entrepreneurs, highly suggested.
